Nuance for balance
When our right-brained Innocent Child becomes overwhelmed by emotions in the present moment, it can be beneficial to introduce nuance into the equation. In this process, our Backbone Parent can assist us by labeling and acknowledging the emotions we are feeling. By engaging the left hemisphere of our brain, we can achieve a sense of balance.
To facilitate this process, an emotions wheel can provide us with various options. Overwhelm is located at the center, while nuance and a range of emotions are depicted on the periphery.
